Hi, I got the NL last week.
2009SA000006xx. Do I have any chance to get a GC with my #?
I live in the US (legal), my next step is to send all the forms back with 1 pic to KCC, right?
I should write BCIS (in question 4), so they can know where I want to continue my process (here in the US), and no in my native country?
Do you handwrite your answers or I need to fill the form online? Handwritten fanswers are accepted? they provide me all the forms but I don't know what they like better... type or by hand...
When I have to AOS?
Today, the only thing that I have to do is to send back the forms with pic?
I confused when I have to do the AOS and pay?
When is wise to order the PC? I'm planning to get it in the next few weeks...? Is ok? I don't want the PC to be expired by the time of the interview.
At the interview only goes the selectee? or the spouse is also called?
The required documentations is only for the selectee or both? And the medical is only for selectee or both?
What happen if wife is pregnant at the time of interview and medical examination due? Can they disqualify a couple because of pregnancy?
Sorry for all the question, but feeling overwhelmed here. Iam a little confused still. Thank you, and hope somebody can give some clues here.

Hey, lucky, take it easy, man.
Search that forum for an "adjustment of status with the DV Lottery winning" and you will be surprized how much information you could gather here. Just do some homework and you will find the answers. :)Congrats !!!

Hi ive.
I am a 2008 winner and I had the same number as you did. SAXXX6XX
I was living in USA before I won but chose CP anyway instead of AOS. The number was current in november (2007) and by december I already had the visa. If you have the documents in order I would recomend CP. It is much faster, safer and frankly almost as expensive as AOS (depending on where you're from it might even be cheaper).
good luck. you have a great chance.

Celebrate and don't rush filing the documents because mistakes can be costly.

Thank to all of you.

I read some old posting, and I'm educating myself with this DV matter. I only applied 2 times, and never look for info about it because I thought it was impossible to win (2006 and 2007).

What does it mean: OHHH very big case number? Is my CN low or high/big in your opinion? SouthAmerica 6xx (six hundred), does the country matters?

What is CUrrent? In 2007/June, cut off for SA was 1750, but in July was current. What happens? I don't understand the meaning of "current".

I can't do CP because we're from different countries. One from SA and the other from EU. I believe will be extremelly complicated. The EU one will need to get the SA visa in order to enter the country. At the end, will be more expensive and crazy.

We'll chose to do AOS, do you think (if I opt this choice), is my CN high, with no chances of nothing? Do people who opt for CP has more privileges than AOS people (like they are call first)?

Nacho, could you explain me: by November your CN was current, ok. What did you have to do in November? And which visa you got in December? I have a visa (H1B) today. They will issue me a new one? Which type?

Visa or GC (you got in December)?

In the case of AOS, do I have to leave the US and re-enter, if I get the "New Visa?"? What happen if we're from different regions? The EU one goes to SA country (winner country) too?

If wife is pregnant or learn that we had a newborn at the time of interview, the officer will refuse the GC? We didn't expect to win the DV.

Still confused here.

Your suggestion will be that "I should get ready all my papers by September (the lastest)"?

Thank you very much. I don't know anybody in person who did/apply the DV or is interested in. That we won still amazes me.

Just see when your number would have been current in this fiscal year (October 2007-September 2008). This way you can judge whether your number is high or rather low (a number that is low in one region might be high in another one). The country only matters, if you are from one that has lots of immigrants to the US, because then sometimes a different (lower) cut-off number is mentioned in the visa bulletin.

If it says "current" in the visa bulletin, this means that all numbers of this region are supposed to have an interview in that month.

When you should have your papers ready depends on your number. If you're likely to have the interview early in the year (October or November), you should soon start to get your papers ready. However, if your number is high and you might not have the interview till July or later, then you should wait as sometimes the police certificate is not valid more than 6months.

I did CP so I can't help you with your questions that are related to AOS, but I'm sure someone else will. Good luck!

Don't worry Ive , your CN is perfect ...

Last year there were 1845 DV winners from your region !

Just try to prepare and send your docs asap !
