"If you receive your immigrant visa on or after February 1, 2013, you must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you receive your immigrant visa and before you travel to the United States. Select USCIS Immigrant Fee on the USCIS website for more information.

Important Notice: USCIS will not issue a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551 or Green Card) until you have paid the fee".

So what do you all think of that?

Is it menas the fee will be 330+165 dollars/person after 1 st of february????

Exactly (provided, you get the visa of course).
That means, it's 1980 USD for all of us (4 member family).
Together with the approx. 500 USD we spend on passports, medical exams, vaccinations, police papers, it should really worth all the money we are spending.
These fees are not designed for our 3rd world salaries :(

Even from UK, once we are talking about 4 people family... those fees are actually stinging now pretty badly.... However I would add that getting permament resident card in UK is not cheaper and British passport costs 1400 dollars per person.

To further that, dont forget that air-tickets to USA will be around 800 dollars per person return... if we are talking single that would be around 1600.... So save up your money, this will hit all of your pockets hard.

I paid £72.50 for my British passport! Do you mean naturalisation?

Thx for the info.

New fee is applicable to CP processing only.

Who Needs to Pay the Fee

Any individual who on or after February 1, 2013 receives an immigrant visa package from a United States consulate or embassy abroad (including Canada and Mexico) will pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee.

Is this for AOS applicants too? It seems only for CP

USCIS Fees for DV 2013

You will get a confirmation email ( from pay.gov)after payment of USCIS fees online; including receipt numbers.

I paid online through credit card for $ 165 * 3 family members including me ( three transactions each). So I got three separate confirmation emails (separate receipt numbers) from 'pay.gov' ; although all the emails included my name
( principal winner) as payee and did not mention my wife or sons name !

Can someone confirm if they have gone through similar process? Better to carry these email confirmations with you when you travel for activating GC.

Does this USCIS fees payment speed up the time for getting your GC in the mail; unlike previous ppl who were not required to pay it ? Any stories out there? I will be there only for 3 weeks before I exit.

Cheers.
