Hi:

I have worked with my GC sponsoring employer for 2 yrs 4 months after receiving my GC and 7 years overall. Now, I want to do something different that is not related to my sponsored job....e.g., my current job is high-tech, I want to quit and start a small catering business or work at Walmart. Just want to get into something that is less stressful.

Will this affect my citizenship application in the future because I would have left my sponsor and will be doing something that has no relation to my sponsor employment? Please let me know.

It's been over 2 years since your GC. Do whatever you want.
 
you can do whatever you want now, but not sure if catering or Walmart will be less stressful :)
