Hello all,
I’m a Syrian citizen, have a family, I’m working at the U.S Embassy in Damascus and still have a valid nonimmigrant visa. Since I'm still working with the U.S government in addition of being a Non-Arab I was threatened by people belonging to the two parties of the conflict here cause of my origin and the nature of my job, I’m going to leave Syria to protect myself and family. My question is; Do you recommend me to travel to another country and ask for refuge or better to travel straight to U.S.A using my visa and ask for asylum there? do you think that my job with the Embassy gives me the support to approve my asylum case?
Note: my financial situation is not that good and I’m afraid it may not be enough to manage my life there plus the attorney’s fees in the U.S
Cheers,
