Need your advice!!

Dear all,

We recently moved to a new apartment in the same city, I informed my lawyer to update my I-485 application with this new address and also sent AR-11 form for my self and my wife.

One month ago, my lawyer followed-up with Vermont service center to get us FP2
notice. It resulted my wife got FP2 notice two weeks ago but I did not get the same.

Here are my questions, how can I get my FP2 notice? What are best ways to
find the address update in our 485 applications?

My I485 application filed on September 18th 2002.

Call USCIS

Call the 800 number and confirm that they have changed your address on file. we actually got written notices from them confirming the address change.

Maybe it helps..Also the last update date on my case changed to the date the letter was issued by USCIS.

Called USCIS

Laks, I called USCIS. She was asking my receipt number to update my address. I thought if I provide my INS A# then they will update all my applications with new address. But she was asking my case number, I am confused. Is address change is not centralized ? I mean does it update all my applications like Labor, I-140, I-485-, EAD and advance payroll?

Sometime you get a stupid person on line who will ask you for every detail like A#, Dates, EAC number. ITs best to keep a copy of your 485 receipt in front of you when you call. Same happened to me so next day I called again (with copy in front of me)and idiot never asked anything but A#, you know the bums at USCIS-who can argue..

I called just now and I was asked following questions:
- What is your date of birth?
- Which country you were born?
- Are you Citizen of that country?
- What is your A#?
- Give the application numbers for which you want the address to be changed?
- What is your daytime phone number?
- Is there any other number you can be reached at?
- What is your new address?
- What was your old address?
- What is your email address?

You would need email for the confirmation for the address change. She did not change the address for my wife's applications, she said that my wife has to call herself. After me, my wife also called and got the address changed for her applications.
