Need Urgent help with Landing in Canada

Hi Guys,

I have some questions regarding Landing in Canada, as I have to land by road(from Seattle to Vancouver)
before 05/13/03 and plan to return by road after completing quickly the "Minimum required formalities":

1) All I need to know is what are the minimum things needed to be done after landing so that I can come back quickly in a day and offcourse I can take care of rest of the things later.
I think the minimum if at all needed is Social Securiy card..
What else: Driving licence and all I can do later..
Also preferably I will like to go in a weekend and come back the same weekend...if at all I will have to wait for Monday to get Social Security.


2)What documents, etc do I need to carry: like Financial Statement from Bank, Photo, Landing Papers,
All Documents needed to return to US( I have an Advance Parole)..Anything else??

3)Should I use a Rental Car as advised in these discussions.

Please help as I my landing Expiry date is very near...

P.S.: Please help only with the minimum Required formalities.

One more issue

I have also heard that I cannot return from Canada unless I get my PR by mail...
It does not sound logically true..Since I have an Advance Parole I should be able
to return back at any cost..Just a concern which I read in these chats.

I too have heard of landing issues such as this. There are posts saying that they take away the landing papers and I-94 so one cannot reenter the US, is that true?

Btw what is advance parole?
 
One more question

One more question:

Do you think it is compulsory to show a "List of goods"
and " goods to follow" since I can tell them that I am only landing
and then will find a job in Canada from US before eventually
landing in canada after some time.
