Hi,
I am travelling to India on advance parole. My h4 visa is expired in 2002. I am going through airindia airline. Via Chicago- Frankfurt (Germany)- mumbai-chennai. Do I need transit visa for Germany as I am travelling on advance parole?

Please post the experience if any body has traveled in the same route. As I called up Airindia and German consulate. They say its better to have transit visa stamped in passport as there is no valid H4 visa. But my travel agent is saying its not needed, as many people do not take any transit visa as the flight stops only for refueling and we need to re board the flight at same gate. Please post experiences I am confused and scheduled my travel next week.

You will need a transit visa since you don't have a valid US visa in your passport. See this website:
