NEED TO understand the process

Hello Gurus,
My husband just filed for EB1- EA and NIW (both self petitions). When we ask the lawyer he jsut asks us to wait. I see people talking about LUDS and tracking online progress. How is that done. WE would very much appreciate any help as our lawyer is not at all helpful (after paying him a lumpsum of money). ANy help/tips aprreciated.

It is pretty easy. Do you have the receipt numbers for both the cases. If yes, then you can track the cases online. If not, you probably need to wait till you get the receipt numbers.

Once you have the receipt numbers, you do the following:

1. go to www.uscis.gov
2. In the bottom right, you will see "Check Case Status"
3. In the box provided below, you should enter your receipt number along with the three letter code.
4. You should get the result which is the status on your application.

However, if you need to check the updates, you can register and then add your receipt numbers as portfolio and then when you login everytime, you can see the update on your case.
