Gurus,

I am novice on I-485 tracking process. My PD is Dec 2, 2002 and my I-140 filed in NSC under EB-2, ND of Dec 04 and was recently approved in May 05.

Kindly let me know whether I-485 approval is based on PD Dec 02 or ND which is Dec 04.
1. If it is PD then which PD cases are getting approval; or
2. If ND then which dates are getting approval.

I understand that I-485 cases are processed by RD of I-485, which in your case is Dec, 2004.

Currently NSC is processing cases with RD of March, 2003. But lately I have seen approvals on this forum with RD of July, 2003 and some Dec, 2003.
 
Actually it depends on both. First the PD should become current in order to become i-485 eligible for adjudication and then RD sequence follows as akkgc said.

What PD is current now for EB-2. Is there a different current PD for EB-3 (for retrogressed countries).
