need some information

My husband is going to apply for H1B visa through his current employer (he is on TN visa right now) and if he gets one, then apply for the GC. My status will change from TD to H4B (again dependent status). I was told by some of our friends that it is possible to get a work permit for H4B holder. I am not sure how to find information on this and how to get it. Do we have to apply by ourselves or by my husband's employer?

Someone please give me the information regarding this and if possible some websites to check on this.

No, H4 visa holders cannot get work authorization. You were told wrong. The exception, of course, is after your spouse filed for adjustment of status for both of you.
