need some help again

Anyone applied for NY state ID card with EAD card with category of A05.?
Now the NY ID card has huge words printed "Temporary Visitor Status Until XX/XX/XXXX". This looks bad...every year need to show them a valid EAD card...
How can I remove it ? does anyone have same situation as me? any suggestion for me plz?
 
I have the same situation, but with NJ driver's license. I have to go there every year to show my renewed EAD, otherwise they will SUSPEND my driver's license. So if CIS delays my EAD renewal, I won't be able to drive to work any more. Not to mention, that to go and get my papers check every year at NJ MVS I have to take a day off work, and be there at 6 o'clock in the morning. I'm usually out of there by 4:30 PM......

I did not show them any EADs. I showed them my asylum documentation stating "asylum granted indefinitely." and I have a normal state ID.
 
Did you show them your I-94? See, there is an error on my I-94. It says: expiration date May 12, 2002. They made a mistake when I crossed the border after my trip abroad. Do you also live in NJ?

Karina, if you have your asylum approval letter you dont have to show them your ead. Please take your letter to EATON TOWN DMV and they will issue you a 4 year licence with the remarks " Temporary Immigration status". If you are in NJ, Eaton is Parkway South.
 
Really? Thanks for the advise, because in Wayne MVS they told me that they do not accept letters as proof....Are you sure?

Yes. As my wife had the same problem, then I took all the docts and since then we havent had any problem with them. They issued a 4 year licence. This year my son got the learners permit on the same docts. Eaton Town DMV has certainly improved and they also have updated their info regarding immigration related matters. Hope this will help.

What you will have to do is, show them your letter and if you have the Dept of Justice letter stating that Asylees do not need an EAD, it's better you take that along too. Ask them to update your licence. They will issue a new licence or update the same with the remarks " Temp immigration status." Upon expiration you will have to follow the same drill.
