Need some help about marrige.

Hello everyone!

So I've read through all of the FAQ's on green cards and I cannot find an answer to my question.

My girlfriend from the Dominican Republic came to this country in 2006 and married, applied for a green card, and received it in Sept. of 2007.

I'll try to make the question as simple as possible. We currently want to get married to each other, but we don't know the consequences to her green card of her divorcing the person she is currently married to, and subsequently marrying me.

Could anyone shed some light on this? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Presumably she is only a Conditional Resident (2yr GC)? If so, its going to be very difficult for her to petition for removal of conditions if she gets divorced and then marries someone else.

Is she still living with her husband or legally separated?
