need some advice

I have a friend who is in the US on a F1.
She is over 21 and being filed for by her mom who is a LPR
Her mom has just filed the N-400 to become a USC
with the intent of switching her daughters preference category from F2b to 1st preference.
Anyway this young ladies F1 visa will expire in july 2005, she doesnt graduate until may 2006
What options does she have for renewing?
Should she go back to jamaica and get another F1 visa, or stay here and not be able to leave the country?
 
she needs to maintain her F-1 status until she can file for adjustment of status. If she leaves the States and I-130 is filed for her, she will not get a non-immigrant visa, because she proved her immigrant intent.

She can go get OPT for a year (work permit) after she graduates, then she can get an advance degree, work for a year again, get another advanced degree, etc.
