Me and my wife and daughter are travelling this weekend to Canada. We both have our US passports but my daughter's (11 Y) was sent for renewal and has not yet come back. Can she travel with just a birth Certificate (she is born in US).

Yes - minors under 18 (I believe) can travel with only proof of citizenship such as birth certificate. Here is an excerpt from the CBSA web site: "If you are travelling with minors, you must carry proper identification for each child such as a birth certificate, passport, citizenship card, permanent resident card or Certificate of Indian Status." You can view the entire text at: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/rc4161-eng.html#P004
