Once you have been in India for 6 months, you can file an I-130 at the consulate nearest you OR if you have an address in the U.S. you may file immediately with USCIS at the Chicago Lockbox. Do you have a U.S. address? If not, carefully read the I-864 instructions, especially page 6.
