Hi,

I will be sending in the I-90 form to correct errors on my Green Card. The I-90 does say that the orinigal I-551 card (GC) has to be sent in and I am a bit nervous doing that. Has anyone sent in a I-90 with just a copy of the GC instead? If you have to send the original GC, what do you do till you get the corrected card - get your passport stamped?

Thanks.

I went through 2 GCs before becoming a citizen. My first GC was valid for 2 years only. After my I-751 was approved, I had to physically visit my local USCIS office (Chicago) and hand over my old card. Only then did they process me for a new GC. They did stamp my passport however.
