Please advice on this situation:

Parents are green card holders, however the oldest child who happens to be 25 yrs old, was unable to be covered under the parents initial petition for residency due to the elongated processing time for the original petition. Now the young lady has been residing with the parents since the original entry into the U.S. since 1986; she is not married and has no children of her own, and so besides marriage are there any other options for obtaining her permanent residency or to even make a case since she has been in the country for 16 years?

any provided info or advice would be much appreciated...:D

what is her present Immigration status??

a student visa F-1 or an immigrant petition by her employer for a green card should help her maintain status in the United States

well currently she has nothing pending, she has spoken to a few lawyers and they all recommend that she get married to a U.S. citizen. She does have a boyfriend but her parents are not approving of the relationship, which makes it all the harder. However is there not a law that should support her in becoming atleast a permanent residence based on the fact that she has been in the country for 16 years?...she has attended grade school and she has graduated high school in the U.S. as well.

Well sorry to hear about the parents not approving of the relationship!

she can always get an employer who can sponcer her for a green card..

Unfortunately I am not aware of any immigration law which can give her immigrant status considering the fact that she has been here since the last 16 yrs.

Her parents should have requested INS to act on her case when she was almost 21.

Let us know

Hope that helps.
