Guys,
Just I cleared my labor and trying to apply for next stage...
I heared that Consular Processing is faster...
I have less knowledge on GC processes...
could some one advise me on this...I have three more yrs of H1
1. Would it be preferable to go for consular processing and getting that at Chennai..
2. How long does it take to get GC?
3. Any complications involved...(I have clean records)
4. Any other suggestions...

All newbies to this forum...

Should take their time and read thru the threads pertaining to their consulates. You will be amazed at how much info there is. You may also read the information on immihelp.com-some of it may be outdated-but it tells you the basic procedure involved. I would love to reply to generic questions like these, but there are simply too many postings such as these. So, to save everybody's time, please read and research before posting. No offense intended. Good luck.:)
 
AOS vs CP

Both the GC routes (AOS & CP) had advantage and dis-advantages.

There is a lot of info on these threads which speaks about the two paths. Please dig the info and it will be really beneficial for you to make a wise, informed decision.

Hello Ravi,

If you have your labor cleared.... Then as per the new law you can do step 2 and step 3 together... i.e. you can file for your 140 and 485 together. So in another 6 months you will get your EAD in your hand....

While if you decide for CP then will have to go sequentially.... i.e. first apply for your 140 and then after approval proceed with the CP process. And CP process can take anytime between 6 to 9 months after your 140 approval....

So now the choice is urs.
