Hi All
I need your advice, my naturalization interview date is on March 20 and I have to be travelling outside the country for 3months on April 1st. That doesn't leave enough time for Oath and apply for US passport

1) I have an Indian passport and wanted to find out if its fine to travel on my Indian passport after passing the interview as I will not have time to wait for the oath and US passport?

2) Is it possible to schedule the oath ceremony after 3 months from interview date when I am back in country. I wil have someone receiving mail for me.

Thanks

You can travel on India passport until you take the oath, after which you'll have to apply for US passport. If you miss the oath, then you can always reschedule, with delay of course.

It depends on your DO. Some DOs offer same day oath. whereas others schedule oaths in batches several weeks apart. If you receive oath notice while you are away you can request for the oath to be rescheduled until after you return. Whether DO grants you your request is another question.
