Hello every body
I have applied for EAD renewal in Dec 05 with my wife. My wife receive the EAD 3 wks ago but i have not . Its been 90 days i have not heard any thing from NSC. I call 800 no yesterday they put an inquiry into it.
My question is is this normal? Does some body has this kind of experience before. This is my 4th time of renewal of EAD no problems before.
I am also waiting for GC approval as my wife & daughter got that last week.
inputs willbe highly apprecited.
Thanks

Does your (clueless) employer insisit on EAD? You can get an unrestricted Social Security card now. See http://www.ssa.gov/immigration/documents.htm

Go with copies of your approval notice, I-94, or expired EAD. SSA can now look up status online. If for some reason you are not showing up, they will check with CIS (happened to me) and issue you a card in 2-6 weeks.

If you must still get an EAD (if you can't do what Floyd told you to do or if you employer still wants your EAD), you can get a temporary card from the local office. This is what I got from the CIS website:

"If USCIS does not approve or deny your Employment Authorization Document application within 90 days (within 30 days for an asylum applicant; note: asylum applicants are eligible to file for EADs only after waiting 150 days from the date they filed their properly completed original asylum applications), you may request an interim Employment Authorization Document. You must go to your local USCIS office and bring with you proof of your identity and any documents that USCIS has sent you about your employment authorization application. Please click here for more information on USCIS field offices".
The link is: http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/ead.htm

I have done that before. They give you the temp card in a couple of days. Also, the instruction above says 30 days for Asylum applicant, but that's an error (it's 90 days for everybody), at least that's what I was told when I went 30 days later.

Good luck!

PS. You must take the receipt document USCIS sent you when they received your application when you go to the local office.
