Hi everyone!

I am planning to go to Canada(Ottawa) on June 2002 for my H1B Visa Stamping. My original I-797A was lost in mail so My company did request another copy from the INS and INS issued the duplicate Copy of I -797A. My question is...... is this duplicate copy is good enough for H1B Visa stamping in Canada???

Any help is truly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. This is for F1 to H1B. I need to apply for Canada Visa so should I apply for the visit visa or business visa. Please let me know if there is any important information I should know. I really appreciate it.

Visitor visa should be fine. I do beileve you have to get an appointment with the consulate first before the canadian consulate will be willing to issue you a visa. Because they will see your passport and see you do not hold a valid US visa so they will ask you to show you have a valid appointment with the american consulate in order to obtain a visa and return to the us.
