Need help with the place of birth in the DV application

Hi

I searched everywhere for accurate info about this but couldn't find any..


I'm an egyptian citizen born in the UAE, But my nationality is only egyptian , I was curious If ticking that option in the Form that says "claim eligability based on birth country" has any effect on increasing/decreasing my CHANCES of winning? note that egypt usually gets around 5000 wins a year while UAE gets like 10 or so as applications from there are extremely few...I don't know if it has to do with anything?

so can someone advice me wich country should i use?
 
your country of nationality/citizenship is irrelevant. You can only use your country of birth to play the lottery. The form doesn't even ask you what your citizenship is.
