Need help with H1 renewal

I need help with H1 renewal. If my employer is currently sponsoring me for a green card application, I still need to renew my H1 before it expires right? It expires end of this year. What forms and documents do I need to file and where do I file it? I live in Los Angeles, CA. Is the application pretty straight forward like the regular H1 application (which I used a lawyer)? I'm planning on doing this myself since it's just a renewal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

------------- employer or his lawyer has to get you new LCA+ form I-129 and other documents from you like valid I-94 copy(both sides) contact your company lawyer he will give you list
