need help understanding Option K 1999 never Honored

Hello to everyone and thank you in advance for suggesting a course of action
For the following situation.

My Friend came to the US in 1999 under a K visa and never got married to the person she originally had the k visa from.

She however got married eventually and after two years of tedious process
Applying for a new visa Her Husband Cheated on her and she divorced him
He cancelled on his side his sponsorship with the immigration after two years to get back at her.

She has been struggling and looking on her own to try to find a solution
To what has become a very complex situation?

What can she do at this point to legalize her status, what are her options to a visa or anything she could look into.

Obviously a lot of you are very involve in what seem to be a foreign language to me so reading these post does not lead me anywhere yet.

I'm myself French and have been in this country for over 17 years just trying to help a friend to legitimize her status so that she can go on with her life.

She has been having bad luck over these years and I want to help out as much as I could but don't know were to turn for help.

Hopefully something will come of this post

Since your friend came here on a K-1 visa, she can only adjust her status by means of marriage to the K-1 sponsor. No other recourse exists barring she being able to prove abuse.

You say she originally came into the US on a K1 but did not marry the petitioner. You also say that she married someone else and mentioned another visa. Had she left the US and other petition was filed in order for her to apply for another visa, or did she remain in the US? Sorry, just a little confused by your post.
