Need help : Received Yellow Letter

Hi All,

Yesterday me and my wife got Yellow letter stating Interview Document Check List.

Required document is:
"you indicated in your application that you have been arrested. For these arrests and any other incidents in which you may have been involved, bring originals or certified copies of all arrests records and court dispositions showing how each incident was resolved."

I checked YES to "Have you ever been arrested, cited or detained by any law enforcement officer (including USCIS or former INS and military officers) for any reason?" on my N400 form.

So far I had 2 tickets ,one I had contested in Metuchen,NJ court to reduce state points and other was out of state in Williams,AZ.
The first ticket I called Metuchen court and they are going to send court dispositions.
But in AZ speeding ticket I paid by post.

My wife's 9 years old ticket in Wakula,FL officer was nice and he mentioned "No Charge Filed" and "no fine" on the ticket.
I called Wakula,FL and they said I can neglect that ticket.

Do I need to provide court dispositions for my Williams,AZ and my wife's Wakula,FL ticket?

Thanks,
Freenation.

It's a generic response generated as a result of checking that box. Since you haven't been arrested, there are no arrest records you can take.

However, since you challenged a traffic ticket in court you should take the court records for that, which it appears you plan to do anyway. There have been some reports of interviewing officers wanting to see court records for any case that went to court even if documentation would not typically be needed for the underlying case.

Hi Freenation -
If you dont mind, can you tell me when your GC 3 year/5 year ends. Mine ends on 3/23/09 and I have been speculating that as reason for not receiving IL although I was told to be on the queue since 3/5/09.

absrao,
u r not alone. i have been on the queue since march 4th. we are very close to each other. we shud keep each other updated. i havn't received my IL yet either. im hoping to get it this week.

Welcome me to the club guys! I answered juts like freenation about my and my wifes traffic tickets and we got a CFR (yellow letter) for my wife today.

I immidiately called their 1-800 number and talked to the IO and told "we were never arrested" and that we only have traffic "citations". She suggested me to go to the a court house in my area and get a certificate stating that "the person is never arrested" and take it to the interview.

Ofcourse i am going to take the DMV records too in anycase (but they won't have older than 5 years data).

Hi James_Chak,

Is IO mentioned to get "Never arrested" certificate from the loca court house ? I never heard that kind of certificate. I also have couple of tickets and got similar yellow letter about the arrest, but I collected court documents (Certifiied) regarding my tickets, but never know that we need to get "Never arrested" certificate. Did you get this already from your courthouse ?

Btw, I have interview scheduled on 04/28 and I might check with our courts here as well.

Thanks,

Hi Why-R2,

I got the yellow letter just today and as soon as i saw it called the IO. So did not get the letter from court house yet. I am planning to go sometime next week.

Regarding such "never arrested" letter, even i am surprised when IO said that, and when i aired my doubts to her, she said that i am entitiled to get one such letter from the local court houses.

Will update my experience on that as soon as i get one.

Sounds stupid, I had a several superior courts in my area. Should I get letters from all them? :)

I also got "you indicated in your application that you have been arrested", but had only speeding ticket. I very disappointed with this letter.
