Please could anyone tell me if it is possible to speed up the consular process in any way? after 23 months of waiting finally the I-140 was approved on march 15th, now found out its around 6 - 8 months for the next stage consular processing. Employer in the us is getting very feed up, any advice would be great.
thanks in advance.
by the way not in the us live in the uk.

ouzman,

AOS is for those who live and work in US.If your sponsor is processing your GC for future job and you live outside US,then you have only CP option. And You are right that CP will take 6-8 months at this time.

Your estimation of time for the completion of cp is correct.
The best you can do at this point is to be proactive and cut down
the time at your (attorney's) end to the minimum.

Examples:

a) Keep the payment ready for the fee bill
b) Keeping the DS 230 forms ready for sending with Packet 3

and so on. Look up the various stages of the process on
cptracker and prepare accordinly.
