Hi,

I recently joined a consulting company and he filed my GC immediately. Now he said my PERM has been approved. He did not give me any userid/password to track status.
I have never seen a PERM approval. So I asked him to send me the LABOR approval.
He sent me one page ( page 9 ) of the form ETA 9089 which I originally filled in hardcopy. Only addition was that the page was signed by a certifying officer in section O - U.S. Government Agency Use Only.

I am not sure if this is what is callled PERM approval and this is enough as a proof.

Can someone tell me if this is the PERM approval or is there anything else needed.

This is urgent and your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

The PERM approval is a print out of the entire perm petition along with a cover page notifying of the Priority Date and that the case has been 'certified.'

thanks st4rguitar

Still have the following doubt.

My employer did not send me any cover page.
I got from him only page 9 of ETA 9089 which says as follows

*****************
O: U.S. Government Agency Use Only
.....
.....

Signature of Certiftying Officer Date Signed

Case Number Filing Date
******************

It was signed by somebody
Date Signed is 10/4/2006
Filing Date is 09/26/2006

Please let me know if this is enough proof for my labor certification or not?
Also, which one of these 2 will be the priority date?
Filing date or Date Signed?

Please clarify

Thanks for your help

It should be enough proof to YOU that it's certified, but it wouldn't be enough for anyone else. As st4rguitar said, the "real" proof is in the cover page, which has your name, the employer's name and priority date. If they wanted to, the employer or immigration counsel should be able to provide you with this documentation.

My employer filed and certified my PERM application. As per the messages above I should NOT expect a "paper approval" from USCIS, am I right?

I tried to log into the PERM system to take a print out of the approval cover letter (as mentioned above), but I can find only two options, "view form 9088" and "print form 9088", both does not carry a cover letter ot priority date.

Please help me how to fin it.

PERM is filed with DOL (Dept of Labor) not USCIS. You do get a paper approval from DOL once your PERM is approved.
