need help for 8th year extension

I have a question regarding 8th year extension. Please clarify it for me

I am on 7th Year extension and my Visa is Valid until March 2005 (7 months left). Now I am planning to transfer to company Y for 8th year extension based on my current company’s labor pending more than 365 days. So the question is, within how many months before I have to apply an H1-B transfer through Company Y in order to get an 8th year extension from March 2005 to March 2006
 
If you are working for X and planning to transfer your H1 to Y, you do not need to wait.
However if you are exteding for H1 with same X, you have to wait for one more month.

Let's say i appled the H1-B transfer through company Y and got the approval by november 2004. From company Y do i get extension from November 2004 to March 2006 or just from march 2005 to march 2006 as my currnet 7th year H1-B is valid until march 2005
 
It's depends on how your Employer offer letter & attorney documentation. Let's say your employer offer job (usually employer says mm/dd/yy or upon H1 approval) from Nov/04, you will get your new H1 from Nov/04 to Nov/05.
BCIS will not consider your current H1 expiration when you transfer your H1.
However it will consider your current H1 expiration for another extension of H1.

It's my experience.
