Need Help - First time TN under Accountant

Hi all

I an Canadian Citizen with Degree in Commerce (B.Com) and Evaluated by UofT with the same Credit... working as Accountant since 2002 in Canada.. also more than 10 years global experience..

I am planing to go 4 first time TN under Accountant category ... I own House to show ties with CA .. here are my concerns...

1) I beleive I need following documents (Please correct me if I miss any)
- TN petition letter from Employer
- Temp Job letter from Emloyer (less than a Year)
- Canadian Passport
- Degree certificates and evaluation from UofT
- other creditionals
- Current resume
- Fees
2) My Employer is in Florida and I am in Toronot - Can I go with my family (2 kids 4 and 2) and get visa first at the Niagara/Fort Erie POE and come back same day - as i dont wanna book air ticket without TN

3) is any one got sample TN petition or Job letter for Accountant Category

4) How much Household stuff I can carry with me if I am driving

1. The TN letter is one letter that would contain the job description and the one-year duration.
A passport is not required.
A degree from canada does not need to be evaluated, but bring it anyways.
There are no other credentials needed
No resume is needed
so, degree, TN letter, and identification as Cdn citizen is all that is needed.
2. Most POEs don't let you get the 'turnaround' TN anymore. You will need to get your TN (and TDs) as you leave. So, you will need passports for all by air.
4. There is no limit. You should have US customs forms for what you are bringing.

Don't hold onto a house just for TN purposes. If your family is movinfg with you, rent out the house.
 
Regarding # 2 - Can I go with my family with some stuff as if I am going, Get TN/TD and come back next day or so - is that ok ?
 
They are going to ask you "When are you starting?". Do you really want to start your TN off with a lie?


What some do is arrange to work for the employer by arranging a phone meeting to be held after crossing. This way you can truthfully answer that you are working 'today'. This works best of course if taking up employement in a border state. It will look suspicious if you say I am starting work today or tomorrow when you in Detroit and your office will be in San Jose.

In my Job letter starting date would be Jun, 18 and I am planning to go to POE on Jun 13 or 14 - would it be OK?

My only concern is i dont wanna take all the stuff with me and my 2 kids, go to Detroit POE as its on my way to FL and if get reject and come back with all the stuff...

thats why i am thinking to go to fortErie POE, get TN and may be comeback next day, get ready and go

does it looks Normal or it might create problem for me????
