Need help deciding between two options

I am on a H1 with an employer who is about to close business, and trying to decide whether there are any disadvantages in going on a H4 status temporarily and coming back on H1 later on when I find another good job.

The other option is for me to go on a H1 with a company and offer that I have on hand, but that is not a job that I am very interested in - and if not for visa constraints, I would go out of the labour market till I find the right job.

Hence my question is that by going the H1-> H4 -> H1 route,
(1) any cap issues
(2) any increased scrutiny/risks in obtaining the H1 at a later date.

Any advise would be highly appreciated.

I do not think there should be any cap issues or higher scrutiny, Shreya. But watch this forum. If there is an change, I will post here right away.
