I am a new bee here.
And I got in here through my friends and I am really feeling sorry for my self not knowing about this helpful site.
Thanks much to Raviv.

I have one question regarding my Child who is at present in India at my In-laws - she will be back after 6 months. Me and my wife are here.
Filling out the Citizenship application I see mention that she is with me.
Is that ok or do I need to mention that she is India.

Also I got a VA-inspection expired ticket in 2002 for which I paid $70; this is all before I got my GC and I don't remember that date when I got the ticket. Should I mention this?

I will really appreciate any suggestions.

Regards

where (COUNTRY) was the child born ? How old is the child ?

If USA, no impact at all. If it is India, still no direct impact unless you apply for child too...keep in mind, N-400 application (unlike GC) is individual....

Hi DreamUsa,
my child is born in USA. And at present staying with my In-laws. She is 2 and half years old.

The question in the application where we list number of children etc..
The instructions says if the dependent spouse or child not living with you - you need to provide court order and financial support information etc..
But I am thinking that it is not applicable for my case as my child is India with my in-laws. And me and my wife are here together.

So I can still answer she is staying with me right?

I think so...assuming the child is in India temporarily, visiting and staying with family NOT due to legal separation and/or child custody issue...Let us see what the other forum members say...

Thanks much for your replay DreamUSA:

Many experience guys here: can any one else shed light on this question please...

Are you applying on the 5 yr or 3 yr (marriage) eligibility. Also, how long has the child already been in India.
We really don't need the answers to these questions on an open forum as I'm sure these are internal family matters, but if you're applying under the marriage rule, there may be questions as to why a very young (US Citizen) child is away from their parents for a very long time, especially if your wife is in India most of the time and appears to be just 'visiting' the US every once in a while to give the appearance of maintaining residence here.
But, if the visit is indeed temporary, then write 'with me' and be done with it...
