Hi, I hope anybody can help me clarify this message I got from email. After a looooong wait on my TB clearance, which they said "must've fallen through the crack". I finally sent my medical on 8/05 and got there by (apparently) 8/09, I received this message from my email:

"Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to
Adjust Status

Current Status:
On August 9, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or
information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining
processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will
receive a written decision on this case
. You can use our processing dates to
estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current
processing dates."

My question is: what does that mean when they said "You will receive a written decision on this case"? Shouldn't I be receiving an interview letter or EAD instead? Or is that just a computer-generated letter they send to people after they send their RFE? Any info on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, that is just the letter they send after they receive your RFE....you should receive next either the EAD or interview letter...whatever they decide to give you first. :p

Thanks!

Pheew, that's such a relieve.. I'll tell ya...INS just loves to confuse people... yea hopefully is one of those 2... thanks DJ! :D

I don't think it's confusing at all.
It's actually a very good news.
They basically said that since they've been having your file for a while, they already examined it and they were just waiting for your additional evidence to be submitted.
You'll probably be receiving your interview notice soon (that's the written decision...that you'll have to go to an interview).

I sent my RFe's in wednesday 8/9 waiting to hear they got it, mine was for I-693 and 693 supplement and my co sponsors info ..Praying My ead will arrive shortly after they get the rfe's ...good luck with yours too
