Ok i didn't know where to post it, so i am posting it here. Ok i am 15 yrs old. UK born citizen to a Jamaican mom and english dad. I will be finishing school next yr. And i want to go to new york and finish school and go college/uni. Which my Grandad said he'd be ok with but we will have to "see how it goes" anyways my family im america are not parents/brothers or sisters. If i was to go to NY i would live with my Grandad's sister. How do i go about this all? and would it be a permanent stay? may i just add my auntie is from jamaica and has being in america for over 40 yrs. I do not know if she's a citizen or green card holder. PLEASE help me

Are you looking to go to College or School or both in NY/US? College would be ages 18+ and would require you to come to the US on an F-1 visa which is designated for International Students. It's typically issued for a period of 5 years - so it's not a permanent scenario.

If you want to come to the US earlier for your 10+2 (15-18 years) that's a whole new ball of wax. I am not too sure how that could happen, but one way to do this would be as an exchange student on a J-1 visa. You would want to research this through other more reliable sources.

I just thought what if she became my guardian?, how owuld i be able to go bout that or her adopting me?

Ok i understand what ur saying, i have one more thing though, if my grandad got a greencard thru his sis could he still remain in the uk and get me mine? or would he have to be out there?
