Family based immigration
My father’s brother is sponsoring his immigrant visa –F4. My father has retired from Govt. Service. My mother is the derivative beneficiary. Questions regarding the following items on primary applicant’s (my father) DS 230 part 1
#10- (Permanent address in US where applicant will live)
My parents will live with me, but I may move from my current address prior to their approval. Does it matter if the permanent address as requested in this item changes between now and approval of visa?
#11- (Address where the Green Card will be mailed)
Could this be my office address (which is also the agent’s address) rather than my residential address? It is my understanding that US post office will not forward green cards if the permanent address changes?
#16- The Place of Birth for my father’s father (my grandfather, who died in 1988) is not available. Same for my mother's father. What should be filled in? Will INDIA be sufficient?
#18- The Date and Place of Birth for my father’s mother (my grandmother, who died in 1971) is not available. Same for my mother's mother. What should be filled in? Is it critical to fill in these items or "Not available" will suffice?
I do not believe that any affidavits are required to establish this data (in item #16 and #18) for my grandparents.
#22- (Employment )
My father does not intend to work in the US. Can the section “In what occupation do you intend to work in the US” be left blank at this time or state N/A
The instructions that came with the package state that birth, marriage and police clearance certificates need NOT be sent with DS 230 part 1 but should be brought along with DS 230 part 2 for the interview. However, I have read in other immigration forums that these certificates should be sent with DS 230 part 1 as well. Is that necessary or advisable to send them now?
These may be trivial questions, but I cannot seem to get around them!
