Mine is strange. My I-485 was transferred to NYC local office on Aug 2, 2004, but yesterday I received a letter for FP (ND: 8/23/2004, scheduled on Sep. 2 in USCIS, Brooklyn, NY) from VSC. Inside the letter, in service center column says "ESC" (don't know what stands for). The problem is that I will go to vacation on Sep. 1, did anyone have experience of FP on Brooklyn office? I want to go there on Aug. 31 (two days before the schedule), I don't know if they do FP every weekday and if I will be allowed to do this ahead of time. Any comments are highly appreciated!

By the way, I just informed VSC of my address change at the mid of Aug via mail. Maybe this triggered something, I am not sure. However, my wife didn't receive her 2nd FP notice (I am the primary applicant).

Ah, no updates in the online message for the I-485, still something about the transfer, and last update date is still Aug.3, 2004.

Thanks!

ESC stands for Eastern Service Center

ESC stands for Eastern service center meaning vermont.
Simlarly SSC - Southern for Texas and WSC - Western for california.

In your FP notice you may find two days of a week mentioned. In my case it was wednesday and saturday. I tried for an early FP and did not succeed at Glenmont, MD.

You will have to give early FP a try!

Yes, they give me options for reschedule on Wed or Sat., but my appointment is Sep 2, which is Thu.

I got my fingerprint done this morning. It was very smooth, I don't think that they checked the scheduled appointment date in the notice. I am somehow relieved now.

NY-NIW,

I have FP2 scheduled on 9/2 in Brooklyn @ 9.00AM.

What time did you go and how much time did it take? Is it crowded?

What papers did they ask for?

Thanks

Their work hour is from 8 am to 4 pm (Tue to Sat.), be prepared for one hour in case there is a long waiting line. But it is very fast for fingerprint. I arrived there at 9AM, and got it done at 9:35AM. Just bring the notice and your passport. They will keep the notice, make a copy if you want to save one.

Thanks for the information. Was very helpful.

Similar timings for us too. Reached there at 8.45 and were out by 9.15 .

They asked for my EAD in addition to DL.
