Pls. provide FBI contact information. I got my FP and would like to follow up on them.
Also please provide experience with FBI.

Here is the FBI Contact Information:

1. Call any one number:
304 625 5590
304 625 2406

2. Select Option 3 or Option 2 i.e. Private Individual

3. Tell her/him that you need to check whether your FP report is send to INS or not ?

4. She will ask your Allien # and update with you with the status.
Allien # is located on the right hand corner of your I-140 or I-485 or FP notice.

My FP results dispatched to INS within a day

I called the FBI and the agent told me that my FP results were sent back to the INS the very same business day when I gave my FP.

I gave my FP in the morning; FBI dispatched the results to INS the very evening. As I type this message, only 20 hours have elapsed since I gave my FP. It is amazing to see the way this system works.

Did you give your FP on Oct5th ?
Can you share your dates ?
I and my wife did FP yesterday , ie october 5th, my RD/ND is Oct30, 2002

FBI informed FP results to INS - 10/05/2004

Now, does this mean the FBI namecheck is also over? Or this pertains only to the FP? That part, I am not sure. May be other gurus???
 
No..this does not mean that FBI name check is over..You have to fax in a request to (202) 324 3367..and give youe email address and phone number..You should hear from them in 3 weeks..

FBI name check is done only once during ur GC process..Let us know if you need anything else.. :)

Thanks for the info. BTW, do you have a source for this info? FYI, my case was transferred from TSC to ADO. And I am very sure then that if your statement is true, then my Name Check was probably done by TSC before it got transferred to ADO. Usually, the Service Centers can only transfer stuff to local-offices after detailed processing is done at the Service Center level.
 
My source is 485 processing document/steps posted by POJ...and all the chats we are having in this forum.. :)

May be, that is the reason why I haven't received any interview notice yet, from ADO, despite being a Aug 2002 filer!!!
 
About name check

Thanks Gurus for the phone # for FBI FP status check. I called them up
and found out that my FP and my wife's FP were complete and sent to Texas
INS. She also gave an email ID to find out the name check status. It is
fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

She told me that I should provide the Name, Alien # and SSN (if applicable)
in the email.

I just sent one and waiting for the reply.
 
My wife did her FP on Oct 5th and I called FBI just now, it was sent to INS on the same day. Thanks guys for sharing the FBI phone numbers.
 
Very strange!

When I called FBI office yesterday, my FP results were sent back 8 days after my FP and my wife's FP results were sent back on the same day.

What does it mean that FP results were sent back to TSC? Does this mean that criminal backgound checks are now completed and I485 processes can be resumed?

Yeah...but then wait for your status message to change to "...FP Results rcvd...processing resumed"..If that happens...then you are good..

Otherwise nothing much...just keep on waiting...
 
ok so looks like there are two stages at FBI
1.- the FP processing
2.- name check

can anyone comment how long is the average waiting from FBI includding the 2 stages after FP??
 
It is not necessary that both happen at the same time..Name check has nothing to do with FP..Look at my signature...you will know the difference in dates .. atleast in my case... :)

How do you know that your name check was completed in Jan 2003?! Especially given that you did your 1st FP in Sept 2004. Could you please clarify/explain a lil bit. Also, Is there a number to call and find out about the name check?! Thanks.
