Good morning immigration portal community.One of my friends is in need of help and good advice.He doesn't know English well that's why i'm writing this post.
So here is the story.About a year and half ago he jumped off the ship and in 3 month time applied for political asylum.Probably you know that if you have D1 visa immigration office has no jurisdiction to make a decision on your case and that's why those cases have to be transferred to immigration court.
He is still waiting... and every time he calls or makes visit to asylum office they tell him that his case is in the hands of some kind of supervising officer and he has just to wait.They don't give the name of this officer and no more additional information.What is even more strange a couple of months ago he applied for work authorization and he received an answer from the Vermont center that they can't give work authorization because his case was officially closed on May 14 2009 and the same paper says that they had no right to do this( as i wrote above).So looks like those guys just lie to him and they lost his case.What can be done???
