Need clarification on H4 stamping in India.

Hi all,

My stamped H1 visa got expired, but I have the extension in hand for more than 16 months from now. I wants to have my wife get H4 stamped in India. She was in US 2 years ago on H4, but now that H4 is expired. Mean while I changed my company, and got new H1 and also the extension, but not able send for revalidation. Is it necessary that I have the valid stamping on my passport to get my wife's H4 stamping? If not, what docs should I send to her for getting it done. Please, do clarify me.

Did you get any responses as to what documents you need to carry to Consulate for the H4 Visa appointment for your wife?

Thank you upender. My wife has got her H4 visa in Mumbai without having to present my Empl letter or Tax returns.
