Need clarification (H4-H1)

Hello,

I recently had a favorable interview with a company. I am currently on H4 and have a Masters Degree from the US and is looking forward to convert to an H1. So, what is the next step that I should take after the compnay give me an employment lettter. Also, is there a dateline for me to apply for an H1 and when can I start. Thanks in advance.

If you get an offer letter from the company means , company have to file your H1 petiiton by April 1, 2007, if approved you can start working from 1 Oct 2007 in 2008 Quota H1b.
