I currently work in the USA in my OPT. I got my H1B picked up this year and got an approval notice from USCIS with a start date of October 1, 2024. While searching for a visa stamping appointment, I found one for August 29, 2024. Due to the difficulty in securing a slot, I booked it. My question is whether it is permissible to attend the visa stamping appointment on August 29, enter the US on September 25, and then resume my work on October 1. or should I wait till October 1 and get a slot after Oct 1 for stamping? Some sources suggest I can attend stamping up to 90 days before my start date, but others caution against arriving for stamping before the start date. Could you please clarify this for me? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
