Hello All,

I am on H1-B, once married I get EAD - does this effect the employment in any way? I mean, do I need to be off from work or something like that?

I am in NY, so the DO will be NY. We dont plan to have any big ceremony for the wedding - might do it in a court. But we have been living together for over a year (relationship over 2 yrs), have plenty of pictures and other stuff (Lease Agreements), etc to support our relationship. Do you guys think that they might give us hard time?

My company is currently in the recruitment process for my Labor Certification how does that effect Family based GC application?

you dont' get an EAD just coz you are married. You'll have to file for AOS and EAD, and then you'll get it. You can continue working for your H1B employer and maintain H1b status until AOS adjudication if you wish. Or you can transfer your H1B to another employer. Or, you can wait for your EAD and leave your employer and find another one. IN the latter case you will be abandoning your H1B status.
