Need an advice on Concurrent filing

I got my labour apporved. My Employer says he won't file concurrently. He is willing to file I140 only.

so my question can i file I485 my self ?? if so does I485 process needs any documents from the empoyer? I have all the documents for my self and my wife. She is on H4 right now.
It will be in Vermont service centre.

I don't mind utilising the services of Jim Mills for I 485 filing if it is possible

140 non concurrent

My employer also filed 140 only in Oct 2002. I am also thinking to file 485 myself as my impression is cocurrent cases are processed faster at VSC.
I think you need employement letter and I-140 copy to file 485 yourself. Though 485 form looks simple but I do not know whether to fill it myself or use a lawyer. I think I need to spend around $1000/- even if I file 485 myself. Using a lawyer may be additional $1000-2000.
By chance , wo is Jim you mentioned in your post.
