My friend used to work for company A from where he got his I140 cleared, due to economic situation he got laid off and joined company B which filed his labour from TX where it takes a long time for labor clearence. Now he has only 11 months left for his 6yrs period. When should he apply for the H1 extension, how soon one should apply b4 6yrs period is over. is he eligible for applying extension since his I140 was done by company A which is still valid.
Any other suggestions how else can he remain in US.

He has to wait until his Labor gets cleared and files I140 by

the end of his 6 years H1 B term. ELSE.....he have to leave the country. Bad luck.

He can join his old company and continue his 485 process if he could...
