Need Advise on my PERM

Hi all,

I need advise on when and how to apply for my PERM/GC. Here are my details.

Graduated MS 2 yrs ago in Mechanical Engineering from US University. Working as software consultant from past 18 months, with the same consulting company. Got my H1B visa approved before I joined this consulting company.

Can you please advise me
1. Is it too early to apply for my PERM ? (If early, how many more yrs should I wait before I apply for PERM)
2. Can I apply under EB2 category?

You can start any time PERM, earlier is better.
For your occupation you may not qualify for EB2 with MS in Mech Engg

In that case I have to apply PERM under EB3 category, but for EB3 should I need to have 5yrs of Exp?

I talked to my HR guys in my company, they say that I can apply under EB2 since I have taken software courses in my MS. Also I recently completed my oracle certifications.

In this case should I force my HR to apply for my PERM under EB3?
