Hi all,

Could anyone please help me with the following scenario?

My company had a layoff a couple of months back, about 20% cut, and
then another small one recently. Yet another major one would be coming
before the end of this year, say 50%.

Suppose I have my approval right after the forthcoming major layoff and
change job shortly afterward without being laid off, say within 1 month from the 485 approval date.

Would this cause any problems at the naturalization stage or would the three
consecutive layoffs be interpreted as very valid reasons to change job?

Thanks in advance.

thanks...

Fortunately, I won't be affected by the layoff. However, what I like to know
is if I decided to change job, based upon the company instability, within a
month from the 485 AD, would that matter at the naturalization stage?

Thanks again.
PS. I'm really getting tired of the company laying off ONLY ENGINEERS :(

If you are laid off after you got your gc, it is not your fault. It won't affect at the citizenship stage (not sure).

Only if you quit after you got your gc, immigration officers may revoke your gc or it would pose problems at the citizenship stage.

If you think you will be laid off before you got your gc, you better find a job or change your job as soon as possible (it is part of AC-21).
