Hi
I am currently studying Masters from UK and on student tier 4 visa. I need to go US for a month on visitors visa to visit my friend who is studying in US.I need to knw that how much funds should i show in my account to get B2 visa for a month and how old the fund should be.

Also Plz let me knw if my friend can sponsor me who is also on student visa in US.And how much fund he will have to show to sponsor me.

Please advice...

B-2 visas are self-sponsored. Apply on your own. For a month long visit, a return ticket and $100 a day for expenses should be more than enough.

Also Plz let me knw if my friend can sponsor me who is also on student visa in US.And how much fund he will have to show to sponsor me.

thanks for the reply....
is 1000 pounds sufficient to show in my account excluding the return tickets if i go for 20 days visit .When should i apply for the visa if i want to go at the end of the JULY and how old should the fund be to get the visa easily.
Also i can take the letter from my friend that he can take care of my accommodation.

1000 pounds should be adequeate. Also carry a credit card if you have one. Apply now. Depending on what passport you hold, it may take a few weeks for visa issuance.

How old the funds should be to apply for the visa??? I hav deposited 1000 pounds a week before.

Thanks...

Realistically, 1000 pounds ($1400-1500) is not enough for the trip. Even with housing taken care of by your friend, this is only $70/day and you have airfare on top of that.

i have 1000 pounds in my account excluding the air fare and moreover the accommodation is taken care by my friend...plz advice if it is sufficient to apply for the visa???

While the funds are a secondary consideration, I would find that a person in your situation (student with few assets) is likely coming to the US to find a job.
