Need advice on citizenship application

Gurus,
I am a Green card holder and plan to marry my fiancee who is here on Student Visa. I will be filing the citizenship application this month.
I am thinking which would be ideal thing to do :
1) Get married and apply for citizenship indicating the current status of my wife (ie student visa)

Or

2) Become a citizen and then petition for my wife.

The reason iam skeptical of the first approach is that during the Citizenship interview the INS might question the intention of my wife who would be on student visa then.

What do you suggest?

If I apply for citizenship together with my wife, will she get the green card immediately when i get the citizenship or should I petition for her separately. Also, how long does she have to wait for citizenship once she gets the GC through this process - 3 or 5 years?
