If you think he\'ll go to the extent of complaining to INS then you can do the following:

1. Try talking to him about raises and get everything in writing.
2. if U get the raise you desired then stay with them for 3 months and then you are free to go or else find another job and if you get a confirmed job then make your current employer fire you (this is the best insurance you can have)... Maintain your cool with your GC sponsor company though.. try going in late daily for a week and if you still don\'t get fired then do it again till it happens..

just my 2 cents..

That\'s what I will be doing, because I did\'nt got my any raise for last 1 1/2 yrs, they have been holding on that for some reason or the other, even though I have been on assignment for all the time since I joined them . (seem to me they we were manipulating me by
sponsoring GC).
But
I wanted to know if they do so, will I get any notice and can I put my views against that ?

thanks for advice

Hello,
Be cool. Talk about pay rise. If you are in consulting, you can request for other a better place in terms
of location with an increase in pay. If nothing works out, wait for your plastic card and one fine day
move on to a new job and make sure you keep your cool with the employer.
Good Luck.
thanks

If you are in consulting, just talk to your client and get back on
bench. Your company may not be able to place you immediately.. (you
know how to avoid that..). If they pay you two months on bench and
sees you surfing local news papers on the net.. you can hear your
sweet news "you are fired.."..

If I were you, I would wait for atleast three months. This question will be raised when you apply for citizenship. Then there is always a risk of your GC sponser complaining to INS. You\'ve waited for 4 years in uncertainity, a few months more to consolidate your gains doesn\'t hurt. Just my two cents.

Alu... is right, while leaving the sponsoring employer right after the GC is indeed like speeding, it is ok till you are caught, the Citizenship application is like EZPass, when you reach that end they check your speed and ticket you for speeding, ie, if you left the job too early, they might consider it a fraudulent case, and who knows where that would lead to....

So if you definately do no want o file for Citizenship EVER, then you might want to take a chance, otherwise, check with your lawyer if you can take advantage of AC21 and leave, or just bear with it for another couple of months (6 mos is the right amount of time, thought 4-6 can always be defended).

Think and Act Accordingly.

I respectfully disagree. If you get fired then there\'s no case and hence no fraudulent means... just my 2 cents.
I have seen my brother do the same (got fired from the employer with in a month of getting the GC) and he\'s naturalized citizen since 3 years.. I would definitely suggest not to leave on your own within 3 months..
