Hi All,

I am going to start my LC process soon.
Please answer a few questions:

1) How detailed the job expereience letter should be from the previous employer. Should it list all your duties? Or just a general letter stating your position and duration of employment sufficient.

2) On the job ad should you list only those skills that are listed on the exp letter or you can include other things also. How does DOL verifies your skills.

3) What are the main points to consider while preparing the job description.

Thanks a lot.

1) experience letter need not be too verbose, but at the same time should give the general idea of what kind of job was being performed.

2) Job AD's and the required skill sets are to be based on the requirements of the job, not your resume. DOL checks your skill set based on your resume.

Are you doing the labor certification on your own? While it is certainly possible to do this, it is ill-advised, as you may not know all the nuances and in the end hurt your chances of getting your labor certification approved. It is often a very fine line of having the job description be narrow enough so as to exclude possible US workers from qualifying for the possition but at the same time not be too narrow so as to tailor the position requirements specifically to what you possess as the background and skills and abilities. The DOL tends to deny those which are deemed to be too tailored and those that are too general tend to get so many inquiries from US candidates that the employer company is unlikely to be able to show that the no US worker is qualified to perform the job duties.

It should cover start and end dates, job responsibilities, designation as a minimum.

Job ad should be drafted such that it doesn't seems too tailor made for the purpose(against your resume). It should not be too vague - so that your LC is denied by issues.
Second part : As explained by 001.

Check www.ajb.dni.us. This is one of the sites where jobs are posted for GC.

Hi,
Based on the current discussion I like to know if anybody got approved after the case is remanded to SWA and asked to advertise again for 'one day' to test the 'market' and submit the recruitment results.

Thanks
