Hello,
I am a new member here.. and I was not sure if this is the place to post this.. I am on an F1 visa.. my OPT expired beginning of this month ( so I have a grace period till the beginning of April, 2005). I am planning to go back to school in Fall 2005 for a PhD and am still in the process of admissions. My husband is on an H1 visa. So, to maintain my F1 status, I understand that I need to get a new I-20 and sign it and return in before my grace period ends. My question is, is that true? and would it be a good idea to change my status to an H4 visa (but that might cause more complications coz I will have to change it back to an F1 which will be a hassle, I think?)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
